Thanks to the wireless, digital world we live in we are no longer stuck in one location, “plugged in”. We have the ability to do just about anything, no matter where we are, thanks to these mobile on-the-go devices. The down side of this technology, however, is that most of these devices, phones,mp3 players, remotes, toys, even medical/health devices like insulin pumps and hearing aids , require batteries. And most batteries are NOT cheap. You may find a decent sale, maybe even a coupon, but it seems like every time I turn around something needs its batteries replaced and it can be pretty tight on the budget!
We all know the “popular” battery brands like Duracell and Energizer. We’ve had the image of the little pink Energizer bunny ingrained in our minds since we were little. We’ve been told that nothing is better, stronger, or can last longer but it makes me wonder, is that really true?? In today’s economy with an increased number of budget conscious shoppers, Rayovac and generic store brands are becoming more main stream. I’ve often seen 4 packs of Rayovac batteries in the dollar spot at Target and I’ve thought, is it possible that these “cheap” batteries can work as well as the national brands? Would I end up replacing these batteries more often, and end up spending the same amount of money anyway??
